GRAPE JUICE SYRUP

Preparation Method :

  • Wash ½ a Kilogram of Concord grapes (juice grapes) and pressure cook with ½ a cup of water.
  • Mash and strain it.
  • In a heavy bottomed saucepan add 4 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water and citric acid and heat it. Switch -off once they start to boil and allow it to cool.
  • When both the sugar syrup and grape extract are at room temperature mix them and add the grape essence. Add the sodium benzoate at this stage.
  • Pour it in clean Glass bottles and store it in refrigerator.
  • Add ¼ cup of the prepared syrup and ¾ cup of chilled water and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 ml Concord Grapes juice
  • 500 grams Sugar
  • 250 ml Water
  • 1½ teaspoons Grape essence
  • 1 teaspoon Citric acid
  • ½ teaspoon Sodium Benzoate (optional)
