Preparation Method :

  • Mix curd, little salt, ½ teaspoon masala in chicken and leave it to marinate.
  • Heat ghee in a cooker, add 2 green cardamoms and 2 cloves.
  • Add washed basmati rice, salt, sugar and lemon juice and fry for a minute.
  • Add water and mix well.
  • Wait for 1 whistle and switch off the gas.
  • Heat oil in a pan, fry the onion till turns light brown, add chicken, remaining masala and cook till done.
  • In a bowl, Mix the fried cashews, onions and coriander and keep aside.
  • In a large bowl, pour little oil, place little cashew mixture, one layer of cooked rice, place saffron milk on the rice, add one layer of chicken, again layer of rice and cashew mixture on it.
  • Repeat the layers. Finally Garnish it with fried mixture and boiled eggs.
  • Bake it in microwave for 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot with raita.


For Rice

  • 800 grams basmati rice
  • Juice of ½ lemons
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 2 cardamoms
  • 2 cloves

For chicken

  • 400 grams onion
  • 1½ kg chicken
  • 200 ml curd
  • 250 grams tomatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • IDHAYAM Sesame Oil

For masala to paste

  • 7 black cardamoms
  • 7 green cardamoms
  • 10 cloves
  • 2 sticks cinnamon(2 inches)
  • 8 green chillies
  • 1 big ginger

For seasoning

  • 4 boiled eggs (cut it round)
  • Fried cashew nuts
  • 300 grams fried onion (crisp)
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Rose essence, saffron dipped in milk and kept aside
