Preparation Method :

  • Fry the cashew nuts with half of the melted butter in a skillet, till golden brown. Remove cashew nuts from skillet and set aside. Reserve the butter in the skillet.
  • Reheat the pan with the butter and add the semolina, cook for a few minutes, stirring continuously.
  • Pour in 1 cup of warm water and the milk. Stir gently and often.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except the fried cashew nuts and 2 tablespoon of butter. Stir to blend well and cook over medium heat.
  • Mix in 2 tablespoon butter and stir till the semolina is cooked.
  • Add the fried cashew nuts. Mix and transfer to a bowl. Serve hot.


  • 100 grams fine semolina
  • 200 ml milk
  • 190 grams sugar
  • 10-12 seedless golden raisins
  • ½ teaspoon powdered green cardamom
  • 50 grams butter
  • 30 grams raw cashew nuts, fried
  • A pinch of saffron strands
  • A pinch of crystalline camphor
