CARAMEL CUSTARD

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to 175 °C/ 325 °F/ Gas 3.
  • In a heavy bottomed pan, heat sugar and caramelize in low flame by constantly stirring till the sugar turns golden in color and immediately take the pan from the heat.
  • Add the caramel in 8 individual molds and turn them around to coat at the sides of the mould. Keep aside for 10 minutes until the caramel is set.
  • Whisk the eggs in a bowl along with sugar, vanilla essence, milk, nutmeg powder and salt.
  • In the caramel-coated mould, pour custard and cover with aluminium foil.
  • Place the moulds on a baking pan and pour boiling water up to 1 inch depth. Bake it in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 Eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1½ teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 750 ml Warm Milk
  • 200 grams Sugar
  • Pinch of Nutmeg powder
  • Salt to taste
