Preparation Method :

  • Melt jaggery in a 100 ml of hot water and strain to remove scum Grate coconut.
  • Powder cardamom.
  • Mix grated coconut with strained jaggery and stir consistently in medium high fire. Do not lose the momentum of stirring. It is done faster.
  • When it is of a real sticky consistency (you can feel with your hand), add cardamom, and ghee and mix well. Remove from fire.
  • Make into small round balls.
  • Dip these balls into the idly batter and deep fry in oil and serve.


  • 800 grams of idly batter 
  • 300 grams of Jaggery 
  • 800 grams of Coconut 
  • 2 teaspoon Ghee 
  • 2 tablespoon Cardamom 
  • Cooking oil for frying
