Preparation Method :

  • Cook the milk in a large, heavy-based pan for about 1 hour or until it is reduced to a thick, lumpy consistency.
  • Stir occasionally and make sure not to let the milk burn.
  • Add the sugar and continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes.
  • Spread the mixture on a lightly greased plate.
  • Cut into wedges and serve cold, decorated with strips of varq.


  • 1.5 litres full cream milk
  • 4 tablespoons castor sugar
  • 2 Chaandi ka varq (silver leaf), to decorate
