Preparation Method :

  • Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan till it is reduced to half.
  • Heat the ghee and fry the cashew nuts and raisins. Drain and set aside.
  • Reheat the pan and fry the vermicelli till it turns reddish. Add to the milk. Cook till the vermicelli is tender. Add the sugar, cardamoms and saffron.
  • Garnish with the fried cashew nuts and raisins. Serve hot or chilled.


  • 150 grams vermicelli
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 2 litres milk
  • 45 grams ghee
  • 2 tablespoon cashew nuts, halved
  • 1 tablespoon seedless raisins
  • 4 green cardamoms, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon saffron strands
