CHANA FLOUR CAKE

Preparation Method :

  • Dissolve sugar in boiling water and strain to remain scum
  • Grease a plate evenly with ghee. Set aside.
  • Heat ghee and stir the chana dal flour in it. Keep aside.
  • Stir sugar over the fire again until it becomes a one-string consistency.
  • Meanwhile heat the remaining ghee and keep aside.
  • Add the chana dal ghee mixture to the sugar syrup. Stir well over fire to make sure no lumps are found.
  • Gradually add the remaining heated ghee to the dal-syrup mixture.
  • Continue stirring until the mixture becomes frothy and the ghee begins to separate from the rest.
  • Pour it immediately into the greased plate and gently shake it to form evenness on top.
  • When still hot, cut into diamond or square shapes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 gram of Chana dal flour 
  • 600 grams of Sugar 
  • 600 grams of Ghee 
  • Water sufficient to cover sugar
