CHANNE KI DAL WITH GHIYA

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :

Preparation Method :

  • Mix dal,bottle gourd, salt, haldi, desi ghee, red chilli powder and 4 cups water.
  • Cook for 10 -15 minutes on low flame. Remove from fire.
  • Mix dal, palak, garlic, ginger, green chilli, turmeric, salt and oil with water if needed.
  • Cook at low flame for about 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil or ghee at low heat. Add cumin seeds, when it turns golden.
  • Add onions, Stir- fry until onions turn brown. stirring continuously.
  • Then add in tomatoes and cook for further 1-2 minutes on low flame.
  • Add coriander powder, amchur and garam masala, Stir for 20 seconds and remove from heat.
  • Add the green chillies and red chili powder. Mix well.
  • Pour over the hot dal. Mix gently.

INGREDIENTS

  • 175 grams split gram 
  • ½ small bottle gourd - peeled & chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • 2 teaspoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder 
  • Tomato Onion Baghar

Ingredients for Baghar

  • 50 grams Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 
  • 1 onion chopped finely 
  • 1 tomato chopped finely 
  • 1 green chilli - slit length ways into four pieces 
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala 
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder 
  • Pinch of amchur powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
