Preparation Method :

  • Boil sprouted green gram in water with little turmeric powder and salt for 5 minutes.
  • Pour oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds. When it crackles add chopped onions and fry well.
  • When it becomes translucent, add turmeric powder, chilli powder and chopped tomatoes.Fry well.
  • Now add the green gram, groundnut powder, grated coconut, asafoetida, garam masala and salt.Mix thoroughly.
  • Now add jaggery, mix well and remove from stove.
  • Now add grated carrot and pomegranate seeds. Mix smoothly without spoiling the shape of pomegranate seeds.
  • Decorate with coriander leaves.


  • 200 grams sprouted greengram
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon groundnut, powdered
  • 2 teaspoon grated coconut
  • 1 carrot,grated
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 2 teaspoon jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 3 teaspoon pomegranate seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves
