Preparation Method :

  • Soak the saffron in warm milk.
  • Grate the khoya. Add powdered sugar and mix well.
  • Put mixture in a large heavy pan. Heat on medium flame for few minutes. Reduce the flame and cook till soft.
  • When the mixture is thick, add cardamom and saffron.
  • Mix well, and remove from flame. Allow to cool.
  • Shape pedas with palms into patty rounds. Mix pistachios and cardamom seeds and press a bit on top of each.


  • 500 grams khoya
  • 300 grams sugar powdered
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom seeds semi crushed
  • 1 tablespoon crushed pistachios
  • A few strands of saffron
  • 1 tablespoon warm milk
