Preparation Method

  • Slit the chilli from the stem to half way.
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Heat a pan, add grated coconut and fry till it turns red and pound it.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Toss the slit bajji chillies and keep aside.
  • In the same oil saute onion and garlic.
  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, tamarind extract, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Flip the fried bajji chilli.
  • Simmer to a low flame and fry until the oil leaves to the sides.
  • Remove from fire and serve it with chappati.
