Preparation Method

  • Wash the prawns.
  • Soak the rice for ten minutes and drain completely.
  • Chop the onions lengthwise.
  • Grind together, green chillies, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  • Grate the coconut  and extract milk.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Saute onions till golden brown, add the prawns and fry.
  • Add the ground masala and fry till raw smell goes.
  • Add the rice and stir for three minutes.
  • Pour five cups of water along with coconut extract.
  • Add salt and close with a lid.
  • When the rice is done add coriander leaves, mint leaves and stir it carefully without damaging the rice.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot.
