Preparation Method

  • Clean the fenugreek leaves and chop it.
  • Chop onion, tomatoes and green chillies finely.
  • Cook soy beans and broad beans.
  • Soak the rice for ten minutes.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Temper mustard.
  • Saute onion, green chilli, curry leaves, tomato and ginger garlic paste.
  • Fry till the tomatoes become soft.
  • To this add the fenugreek leaves and fry for a minute.
  • Add broad beans, soy beans and soya chunks stir well add sambar powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, garama masala powder, lemon juice, grated coconut and stir well.
  • Pour five cups of water and allow it to boil.
  • Add salt and rice.
  • Stir once, close with a lid, simmer to a low flame, till the rice is cooked.
  • Remove from fire add ghee, coriander leaves and stir with care.
  • Remove from fire and serve.
