Preparation Method

  • Soak together rice and red chilli for three hours.
  • Soak each of the dhal varieties separately.
  • Grind the rice and red chillies to a fine batter and keep aside.
  • Grind the urad dhal to a fine batter.
  • Chop the ginger and green chillies and curry leaves finely.
  • Grind the toor dhal and chana dhal to a coarse batter.
  • Mix together all the batters adding salt, chopped ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida and cooking soda.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • When it becomes hot, take a small sized ball of the batter, pat it slightly and deep fry till golden brown on both the sides.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot.
