Preparation Method

  • Soak the rice for thirty minutes, drain the water and pound it.
  • Steam the rice powder in a steamer.
  • Once done, sieve it.
  • Add the salt in water and bring to boil.
  • Pour it to the flour little by little and make it to a firm dough.
  • Put the dough in the idiyappam maker.
  • Squeeze in each moulds of the idli plate in a circle motion.
  • Allow it to steam for five to seven minutes
  • Serve it with sugar and coconut milk.
