Preparation Method

  • Boil milk in a heavy bottomed pan in a low flame until it comes to 750 ml.
  • Stir continuously.
  • Remove from fire.
  • Add 250 gms of sugar, stir well and allow it to cool.
  • To this add a tablespoon of custard powder, three drops of vanilla essence and stir well.
  • Crack the eggs and beat well.
  • Heat a pan with a tablespoon of water and two tablespoon of sugar. When it turns to a blackish red, swirl the pan and let the syrup spread allover.
  • Pour the milk mixture and close with a silver foil.
  • Boil water in a steamer.
  • Place the vessel with the milk mixture in the water. close with a lid and steam it for thirty minutes.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • Refrigerate and serve.
