Preparation Method

  • Soak kambu and rice together and the dhal separately for four hours.
  • Grind the kambu and rice coarsely and the dhal to a smooth batter.
  • Add salt and mix both the batter together and allow it to ferment overnight.
  • Heat a mini pan, temper mustard and add  it to the ground batter.
  • Add cooking soda and mix well.
  • Grease the idli plates with Idhayam Sesame Oil, pour a ladle of the batter in each mould and  allow it to steam.
  • Serve hot.
