Preparation Method

  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Dice the onion and tomatoes finely.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Temper mustard. When it splutters, add urad dhal, fenugreek and curry leaves.
  • Saute onion, tomatoes and garlic and fry well.
  • Pour the tamarind extract.
  • Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and stir well.
  • When the gravy thickens, remove from fire and serve.
  • Can be used for idli, dosa and rice.
