Preparation Method

  • Chop the ivy gourd to fine circles.
  • Chop the tomatoes.
  • Heat a pan with a tablespoon of Idhayam sesame oil, add the ivy gourd and fry till it becomes soft and remove from fire.
  • Heat another pan with rest of the Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Temper cumin seed, saute shallots, fry till turns to golden brown, add tomatoes, chilli and fry till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  • Remove from fire.
  • Grind together ivy gourd, the fried spices, tamarind and salt.
  • Transfer to a bowl and serve.
