Preparation Method

  • Soak the sago in water for two hours.
  • Grind the sago, and then the sugar.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan.
  • Add the ground sago and sugar.
  • When it becomes to a thick consistency add ghee, cashew nuts and stir continuously.
  • Add cardamom powder, saffron, raisins and stir well.
  • When the ghee separates from the halwa it becomes more thick.
  • Grease a broad plate with ghee.
  • Pour the halwa to the greased plate.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • When it is warm slice it and serve.
