Preparation Method

  • Soak the dhal varieties, pressure cook and keep aside.
  • Extract the juice of tomatoes.
  • Grind ginger, green chilli, cumin seed, roasted chana dhal, chilli powder and cinnamon to a fine paste.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil, temper mustard and curry leaves.
  • Add the ground masala and fry till the raw smell goes.
  • Pour the tomato extract.
  • Add the ground masala, ridge gourd pieces and salt.
  • When the ridge gourd is done, add the cooked dhal, simmer to a low flame for 5 minutes.
  • Add lemon juice and  stir.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot.
