Preparation Method

  • Soak the wheat in water over night.
  • Grind the wheat and extract the wheat milk.
  • Repeat the process twice.
  • Allow the milk to ferment.
  • The thick milk will settle at the bottom and the clear liquid will be on top.
  • Discard the clear liquid.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with water, add sugar and allow it to boil.
  • To this add kesari colour powder and saffron.
  • Pour the wheat milk and stir continuously.
  • Add ghee, cashew nut, almond and pista.
  • Simmer to a low flame and keep stirring.
  • When the ghee separates from the halwa.
  • Remove from fire and serve.
