Preparation Method

  • Soak the rice, drain water and pound it finely.
  • Dry roast gram flour slightly.
  • In a broad bowl, mix together rice flour, gram flour, cumin seed, salt and ghee.
  • Pour water little by little and knead the flour to a smooth dough.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Place the star holed achu into the muruku mould.
  • Fill the star murukku mould with the dough and slowly press the mould directly over the oil in circular motion.
  • Fry till crisp.
  • Store in an airtight container.
