Preparation Method

  • Soak the rice for ten minutes, drain the water completely.
  • Chop the onions lengthwise and finely.
  • Slit the green chillies.
  • Extract two cups of coconut milk.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed vessel with Idhayam Sesame Oil and ghee.
  • Add the cinnamon, cardamom, chopped shallots, green chillies and fry till translucent.
  • Add peas and fry for five minutes
  • Pour the coconut extract and two cups of water, salt and allow it to boil.
  • Add the rice and stir well.
  • Close with a lid and simmer to a low flame for about ten to fifteen minutes.
  • When the rice is done. Remove from fire, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
