Preparation Method

  • Soak together par boiled rice and toor dhal for three hours.
  • Grind it along with grated coconut, tamarind, chilli and curry leaves.
  • Combine ground batter, salt, cumin seed, peppercorn, asafoetida, required quantity of water and mix well.
  • Heat a dosa pan.
  • Take a ladle of the batter and pour the batter from the edge to the centre of the pan.
  • Drizzle Idhayam sesame oil to the sides of the dosa.
  • Flip over when it turns brown.
  • When the dosa is done, remove from fire and serve.
